How do you find a DJ you can trust?
Every year, especially over the busy summer season, I get calls from brides, often in tears, who have just found out that the DJ they booked for their wedding isn’t coming. These calls are very distressing as they are often at very short notice to the big day, if not on the big day. If I can help, I will, but often i’m already booked for a wedding myself.

Most people have heard of Trading Standards. It’s a team of people, hosted within local authorities around the country to combat and tackle rogue traders. But, did you know they operate a scheme called Buy with Confidence?
Buy with confidence is a business approval scheme that’s 100% owned, controlled and operated by independent public sector bodies.
What does being Buy with Confidence trading standard approved mean?

Celebrations with Alan Marshall
As you may have guessed by now, Celebrations with Alan Marshall are part of the Buy with Confidence scheme and are Trading Standards approved and have been since 2019. To achieve this status we had to go through some pretty extensive checks including:
- Reference checks and vetting
- Contracts checked for fairness
- Criminal records disclosure/check
- Review of proceedures and operating proceedures
Is it a guarantee?
No, the Buy with Confidence scheme isn’t a guarantee, but, why would a business go through the schemes application and approval proceedures if it didn’t fully intend to stick to the schemes ethos? The scheme also has a complaints proceedure, so anyone breaking the rules would be investigated and would be unlikely to maintain the honour of the award.
