Your wedding day is going to be quite an emotional day, not just for both of you, but also for your parents.
Getting married is all about family and relationships. Not only is the family that you already have important, but this is the joining of two families and that should be a part of your day and celebrated. For this reason, it is great to show how important your family members are to you, and there is no better way to do this than with the father-daughter dance.
This usually takes place as an official part of the reception. All eyes are on the two of you, so you should always make sure that you have it planned and that you both know what’s going to happen.
You’ve only got to do a quick search on YouTube to see plenty of examples of this type of dance and see some of the wonderful opportunities it can create for your photographer and guests.
This type of dance can be as simple or as complicated as you want and can be about fun or sentiment, or a mixture of both. You may wish to do nothing more than sway, while a song with appropriate lyrics or that means a lot to the pair of you is played. If those around you know just why the song is important, it is sure to have a great effect.
If, on the other hand, you want to have a bit of fun, then you may wish to plan an entertaining father and daughter dance. Or, maybe involve more of your family or wedding party. Again, a quick scan of the internet to see a whole host of videos that have gone viral from weddings, and many of these are from where pairs of the wedding party have danced together and have surprised their guests by having something prepared. You could take dance lessons, or simply do the moves to “The Macarena” to something different – as long as the beat fits, it will raise a smile, and plenty of glasses!
The father-daughter dance can be a wonderful moment in a wedding reception, and it is entirely up to you what you want to do with it. With my help, we can put together a plan that will stun your guests, and make sure there isn’t a dry eye in the room.
