What’s a Wedding Grand Entrance?
When you enter the room to take your seats at the top table for your wedding breakfast, will you be announced? How will that announcement be made? “Ladies and Gentleman – The Bride & Groom”… it’s a bit dull, but this is often how most venue MCs will introduce you.
This is one of those moments that can be made into something quite special, with a bit of forethought and pre-wedding planning (just one of the many things to discuss at our pre-wedding planning sessions).
Let me tell you about another way…
Picture this…
You and your new husband are waiting outside the entrance doors to the room. The DJ/Master of Ceremonies has briefed the audience on what’s about to happen “In just a few moments, I’m going to bring the Bride & Groom into the room. When they come in, through that door over there, I want you to stand up and welcome them with thunderous applause, cheering, whooping, whatever you feel, let it out. Let’s make this a spectacular welcome.”
Then the DJ comes and checks you’re ready, before going back into the room…
“Ladies and Gentlemen, please be upstanding and welcome, with thunderous applause, Jennifer and Mike, the very new Mr and Mrs Smith…”
Wouldn’t that be better? But we can add to that… take it to another level…
How about… we’ve already introduced in the chief bridesmaid, the best man, your parents, your new husband’s parents… all introduced by both their roles and their names… wouldn’t that be great?
And another level more…
How about if we did all that and introduced each of them with their own special bit of music…
All The Single Ladies – Beyoncé for the Chief Bridesmaid,
Whatta Man – Salt ‘n’ Peppa for the Best Man,
Sex Bomb – Tom Jones for the fathers of the bride and groom,
Simply the Best – Tina Turner for the mothers and then, once it’s all quietened down, the announcement for you and your new husband with Marry You – Bruno Mars… can you imagine what it’ll be like? Do you think your guests will remember that?
Just one of the many “Wow!” moments I can help you create for your wedding.
As mentioned earlier, this is something we discuss at your wedding planning sessions. These are just a few ideas, but I’ve got many more and will work with you to make your wedding day exactly how you want it to be.
Although I’ve used the terms Bride and Groom and Husband and Wife all of my announcements can, of course, be tailored to same-sex couples.
